Model DrivenAt Astron Technologies, we emphasize the use of modeling to define applications, databases and the underlying architecture. Models are defined and refined in an iterative fashion as a series of specifications for each stage, built on and integrated with each other. A model evolves from a simple initial version into a complete specification of the application. A specific model may be subdivided into multiple sub-models, representing different process groups within a system that can be deployed using multiple platforms. Model specifications include, but are not limited to UML Diagram Types (Use Case, Sequence, State Chart, Activity Diagram), Relational Data Models, Process Models and mind maps as appropriate. Iterative DevelopmentDevelopment is an iterative process. A simple model is built initially and refined in subsequent layers. It is possible to generate a functional version or prototype of the application allowing the user to see a version of the application early in the development process. Throughout this iterative approach, the evolution of the application is controlled within the context of the model. Relational FoundationAstron Technologies uses the best object design concepts to extend the concepts of relational data modeling, reusing the skills and expertise that already exist in most enterprises. The method and its supporting tools are designed to be used with relational database management systems, exploiting a proven technology base that can support the applications critical to the business. Our approach delivers the reusability and flexibility promised by object technology. |
